Learners' understanding and thinking about energy

Some examples from ECLIPSE of what students have said relating to energy:

Energy can be created, but only in biology

Plants mainly respire at night because they are photosynthesising during the day

Respiration produces energy, but photosynthesis produces glucose which produces energy

Sleep, like food, can give us a bit more energy

What are the bits of electricity, if the the speed of the electrons is actually really slow?

Bill on plants storing sunlight

Energy is like a control cente?: an example of a student-generated simile from the ASCEND enrichment project.

This is just one of a wide range of science topics that learners have talked about in ECLIPSE projects.
