Learners' understanding and thinking about polar bonding

An example from ECLIPSE of what students have said relating to polar bonding:

Chlorine is more electronegative because it has got the greater tendency to attract an electron from another atom

Chlorine will donate more electrons to the carbon-chlorine bond than carbon, because carbon has got less

Other student comments relating to chemical bonding

This is just one of a wide range of science topics that learners have talked about in ECLIPSE projects.
