Ralph

Ralph was a participant in the Understanding Science Project.

He was interviewed on eight occasions: four times in each of Y10 and Y11 (upper secondary school in the English school system)

Ralph's understanding of science

Because they are laws these things have to be true

Gravity is a force which pulls things towards the centre of the earth

Ohm’s law is that voltage divided by current equals the resistance

The law of gravity is that things will always move towards the centre, but it is different on the moon

The nucleus is like the sun in our universe - the thing everything orbits around

The smallest thing you can ever have is an atom

With science it will always be the same
