George Kelly was a phychologist and therapist who developed an alternative basis for therapy to psychoanalysis. His theoretical approach, 'constructive alternativism' was dscribed in a theory of 'personal constructs'. His approach involved the development of (clinical) methodology since adopted in research – repertory grid and the method of triad's (a.k.a. 'Kelly's triads').

Kelly's ideas has informed 'constructivist' thinking about learning in science education, as his therapustic approach could be seen as a kind of pedagogy (as he supported his clients in finding new ays of understanding their worlds).
